Camp Development

Doctor’s Quarters

As camper attendance increases, the need for fulltime medical staff grows exponentially.

With the addition of a Doctor’s Quarters, Timber Wolf Lake will not only offer campers exceptional medical treatment that is above and beyond the state requirements, but will also give qualified medical professionals an opportunity to bring their families with them to experience a life changing week at camp.

A fully dedicated Doctor’s Quarters will give Timber Wolf Lake a broader pool of physicians to draw from while freeing up a room in the Adult Guest Lodge for additional adult guests.

The Doctor’s Quarters will have three bedrooms, a sitting room, laundry area, and small kitchen. During the school season, it will also serve as additional retreat space for guests, especially those with children.

The projected budget for this project is $350,000.

Upcoming Projects

Hot Tubs and Bathhouse Complex

The bathhouse complex will be located next to the existing snack bar and game room, thus enhancing a high-traffic, highly social aspect of camp with another programmatic activity that can be used not only during the summer months, but also during the colder, school season months. While the bathhouse itself will provide much needed rest rooms and changing areas, the highlight of the complex will be the zero entry hot tubs.

Up to 150 guests will be able to use the Timber Wolf Lake hot tubs at any given time — the equivalent of 30 percent of campers and leaders when at capacity. A hot tub and bathhouse complex will provide campers and leaders an additional activity to enjoy together, as well as a great place to laugh, relax, and talk about the message of Jesus Christ.

The projected budget for this project is: $750,000.

Camp Development

Camp Development Principles

Young Life camps have a long-standing policy to first raise the funds and then to develop new projects, facilities and amenities.

This is so the camp fee that summer and school season guests pay is minimized to reflect true operating costs. This practice also allows us to develop new projects to a standard of excellence.
